Back near the middle of May I received my review copy of Windows 7 Annoyances: Tips, Secrets, and Solutions by David A. Karp and even though it has taken this long for the actual review I have been posting some really good tidbits from the book. Here is a list of those posts just in case you want to check them out, or bookmark them for future reference.
- Speed up copying files over a network in Windows 7
- [Tip] Automate your backup and restore of registry files
- Hard drive jargon got you confused? Here’s some help
- Confused about what viruses, malware or spyware means? Here’s some help.
The thing about a lot of these manual type books is that for the advanced user the cost of the book doesn’t really match the usefulness. This was much the case that I found when reviewing the Windows 7 – The Missing Manual. However that doesn’t mean that for newcomers to Windows or the average user in your home won’t find David’s book a handy addition to the desk or bookshelf.
I still have a few more good helpful tips from the book to post yet but if you want to be able to dig a little deeper into your install of Windows 7, and you have a good starting knowledge of Windows you won’t go wrong picking up a copy of Windows 7 Annoyances: Tips, Secrets, and Solutions by David A. Karp.
