Anyone who reads, or listens to Paul Thurrott will already have known this back in August, and the rest of us might have suspected it; but we got the official word today that – yes, Microsoft will be shipping a new Metro-ized version of Skype just in time for the Windows launch on Friday.

This remodeled version of Skype is also incorporated with the new Windows 8 Peoples Hub and includes Start Screen integration as well as Live Tiles.

Got to admit – it’s looking pretty snazzy so lets hope this is more than just new lipstick slapped on the old pig.
