The Most Useless Review Of Nokia's Lumia 900 With Windows Phone 7.5 You Will Ever Read - Winextra
So, I had this review of Nokia’s Lumia 900 sitting on the back burner using a review unit provided by Rogers Canada when I found out that Microsoft had a big announcement it was going to make at the Windows Phone Summit.
Of course the common assumption about the announcement was that they would be announcing the soon to arrive Windows Phone 8, which if true would mostly likely make any late reviews like mine totally pointless.
It turns out that this assumption was correct but making it even worse; especially from a review point of view of existing hardware, was that Windows Phone 8 would not be available to any existing handset hardware. Now whether this is good or bad is open to discussion and better left for another day but the question remains – what do I do about this beautiful Nokia Lumia 900 sitting on my desk?
As for a review – which really is totally pointless at this point – well …. the fact that the Nokia Lumia 900 is an absolutely gorgeous smartphone doesn’t change. In fact I am dreading the email from Rogers with the return instruction for the phone because I would love to keep using it, even though future-wise it is dead in the water.
The best thing I can say about the Nokia Lumia 900 is that once Windows Phone 8 has launched and it is available on the Lumia 900; and you are in the market for a new phone, run don’t walk to your provider and get your hands on one of these phones. You will not regret it in my opinion.
My only regret is that my provider, Telus, won’t be offering the Lumia 900 and I haven’t had a chance to test the Lumia 810 which they do carry so I’ll be faced with a hard choice in a couple of years when my contract is up.
So for now I have to be honest with you – do not bother buying any Windows Phone let alone the Nokia 900; but once Windows 8 launches then I would put the Lumia 900 at the very top of the list.
