HDMI, otherwise known as High-Definition Multimedia Interface, is the newest way that unscrupulous tech companies are scamming consumers. It is also one of the newest ways to transmit digital data around much like from your new high powered video card to the spanking new LCD monitor.
The problem is that because it is new people are easily tricked into believing that they need some really special cabling to be able to enjoy the best video that this HDMI can provide. Needless to say there are plenty of companies doing everything they can to perpetrate this nonsense and make a lot of money in the process.
Thanks to the team at Mint.com we now have this great infographic that explains just how wrong this is and how people are getting conned.
