While I may not be the biggest fan of Apple the company I have an immense respect for Steve Jobs and the amazing things he did to and for the company.

At this point the most definitive book about Steve Jobs would of course have to be his biography that was written by Walter Isaacson but another interesting look at the company has made its way on to bookshelves, digitally and physically, called “Inside Apple: The Secrets Behind the Past and Future Success of Steve Jobs’s Iconic Brand” and is by Fortune editor Adam Lashinsky.

As part of the publicity tour for the book Adam dropped by LinkedIn for their inDay Speaker Series where he talked about the book, the company, and the man.

Personally I found the video well worth watching but I`ll leave it up to you whether it adds anything to the story about the iconic brand or the man.

Apple’s founding documents get $1.59M at auction

Apple founding documents at auction

Wow, who knew a bunch of papers could be worth so much money but it seems that someone was willing to fork over $1.59 million at a Sotheby’s auction for the documents that established Apple as a company back in April 1976.

While early estimates placed the values of the bundle of documents at around $150,000 the bidding quickly escalated past the one million mark ten minutes into the auctions. There is no word as to the final buyer was but the winning bid was placed over the phone (no word if it was an iPhone or not).

iPad meets lava - and loses

Look I might not be the biggest Apple fan in the world but even I think that taking an iPad to your neighborhood volcano and dipping it in a lava flow to see how well it fares is – well – cruel and unusual treatment of a gadget, any gadget.

However that is exactly what accessory maker ZooGue did recently when they traveled to Hawaii and an active volcano to see just what would happen (like we didn’t already know). Needless to say the die-hard Apple fans will be cringing like someone just kicked them in the balls while the rest of us will just be having a good laugh.

The iMove - an Apple inspired car of the future

Created by Italian auto designer Liviu Tudoran the iMove takes its inspiration for the Apple Macintosh products and is designed for the year 2020.

It is an electric car and feature the well known design lines as seen in Apple products where most of the body of the car is covered in transparent materials; which also doubles as a solar panel.

The car will be able to seat three people along with innovative storage space and will allow for various customization possibilities, unlike Apple products.

Apple's proposed new headquarters

A couple of months ago the drawings of the new Apple headquarters, as envisioned by Steve Jobs before he died, was circulating throughout the web. It looks pretty snazzy as you can see from the image above but apple hasn’t always had such gorgeous offices to call home.

Thanks to Matthew Panzarino at The Next Web for running across the original Apple floor plan for their office space in the Bandley 1 building that Chris Espinosa, Apple employee #8, posted to his Posterous blog.

As you can see it definitely wasn’t anything to fancy at all.
