It never fails but at some point our hard drives become littered with empty folders. Whether it be because of lazy developers who don’t take the time to properly code their uninstaller routines to remove them to programs that create folders on the fly but really end up not being used those empty folders keep hanging around.
Now we could patiently go through and check all the folders and then delete the empty ones manually but come on even the most boring of us have enough of a life, no matter how slim, that this is only something we do when there is absolutely nothing else to do. We know they are there but so is a nest full of bees outside.
For those times when just knowing that all those empty folders are there and you are getting really bothered and anal about it along comes Folder Vanity Remover. This has to be among the most down and dirty get the job done and screw off apps that I have seen in a while. Simply download it, start it up (no install needed), point it at the folder (and sub folders), and click the run button.
Voila. Done.
Now go play with that bees nest.

I can't stop myself from commenting about this…. There is something incredibly elegant and graceful about a small program that does one thing, does it well, does it without complaints and does it easily. I downloaded this program and ran it. Within four or five mouseclicks I removed over 50 empty folders from one of my network drives. Normally that would have taken over an hour and several hundreds of mouseclicks. No fluff, no bloat, no clutter. Just a good, clean, intuitive interface. There's a lesson here.
