Everyone loves nothing better than making fun of Microsoft’s various advertising campaigns that surface whenever a new product is in the pipeline. From downright belly laughs to outright sneering people across the web constantly hold up the company’s ads for ridicule. Well it seems that Microsoft is going to let everyone who has laughed in the past a chance to prove they can do better.
Long Zheng has news of a new idea from Microsoft in advance of the upcoming renaming of Windows Mobile to Windows Phone and the release of a new version of their mobile version of Windows. It seems that the company has teamed with Zooppa.com for a contest that will let anyone submit an ad idea, with mock-ups I presume, and have a chance at winning $14,000.
Zooppa.com is a website that allows companies to publish information regarding upcoming advertising campaigns and then crowdsource the creative work behind the campaigns – often for prizes. Unfortunately the Zooppa site is only displaying the information in Italian but hopefully there will be an English version up soon. In the meantime you can always grab the logo and brief files for the campaign and get to work.
