I have to admit that Assassin’s Creed has never really interested me as a gamer but thankfully for Ubisoft my interests in games aren’t a sign of what will be a big seller.

So much so that in light of mumbling in the gaming world that Assassin’s Creed was on a downward slide Ubisoft was more than happy to announce today that the next installment, Assassin’s Creed III, has already doubled the pre-orders that they had for its predecessor Assassin’s Creed: Revelations; which was also a record setter.

To further illustrate the fact that the Assassin’s Creed franchise was far from dead or dying Ubisoft also shared the fact that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has sold over 40 million units to date.
