Dishonored is already getting a lot of buzz about being one of the next great games and while I’m still not personally sure about the game I definitely like the premise of the game, that being a story that takes place in a steampunk world full of grime, decay and special powers. It has been a while since we have had any real fresh takes on an open world game environment so one can hope that the game will live up to the hype.

However the one problem with any new idea is being able to get people to buy into the “whole” story and to help us get use to the steampunk world of Dunwall the game’s developer Bethesda has teamed with animation studio Psyop and created a three part web series that is meant to act as a sort of prequel to the story behind Dishonored.

The series is called “The Tales from Dunwall” and the first part of that series has hit the web and which I have embedded here for you to watch. Personally I think this is a great idea and enjoyed Part 1 but as in all things “your mileage may vary” but feel free to let us know in the comments about your thoughts on the game and the web series.

Dishonored will launch on October 9th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC but you can also preorder it now on Amazon for around $60.
