They're Seagates!

Agreed. Haven't had a Seagate last over a year yet.
NOW ya tell me!!!
The drive that went bad was seagate but I bought it on 10/12/2006 refurb, I have no complaints. I probably could format and still use it but I don't feel like going thru this whole getdataback dance again if I'm wrong.

Probably this is why they're offloading them that cheap… OTOH, I've got one 750GB Seagate 7200.11, whose firmware I updated according to the instructions on the Seagate site before it went bad, and it's been spinning (not continuously) with no problems for over a year now.
They've dropped them another $10.
Down to $39.99
Grrrrr Mine is due to arrive today. Emailed tigerdirect, they have it on sale for $39.99 too. They have a price protection policy which gives me the difference as a store credit. I prefer money but oh well
Thanks!

You know that 2 of them make a raid 1 array
I use 2 barracuda (1 tb) in an external USB raid 1 enclosure with slide out drive trays.

Since I bought my external raid 1 housing there have been some killer USB/ESATA enclosures brought out.
I'll keep it in mind.
<@callow> I have a total of 1.02TB of HDD Space with 507.6GB Left For Usage
This drive will make 2TB, I think that'll keep me busy for a little while
