IIS on XP how to get to root, not specify alias

Hey Folks
So I was feeling a bit adventurous the other day and I set up IIS on my XP Pro system at home. I made a few web pages and they work great. Can see them from anywhere, after appropriate router/firewall changes. Actually it worked quite well I had it all set up in a few hours. My only problem is that I cannot get to the index.html in the root. I want to make a root page that links to all of my alias pages. Currently I have to use a long name to get to the page:

http://mydyndnsdomainname.net/alias/index.html

How do I set it so the browser goes to a root (index) page like:

http://mydyndnsdomainname.net

I have a feeling this is a setting in IIS - what am I missing?

Oh I should mention that as this is XP this is IIS version 5.1

I knew it - soons I post the question I figure it out. Works every time.

Here's the solution:
in Computer Management, open IIS and look at the properties of the default web page. Go to the Documents tab add index.html, then move it to the top of the list with the arrows. Ta da!

Ok now to make the index.html page (which will contain links to all the alias' I have)

Ha ha I guess I have a bit of Joe in me. I'm always reluctant to post because of this effect (answer comes to you, or you find a page that explains it). Same idea as lighting a cigarette to make the bus come.

Maybe I'll start to do this more often, it gets me the answer quickly!

I think you are just setting the load order priority when you move index.html to the top of the list.

You are making virtual directories for your domains Y/N?

You should be able to set directory browsing on for root and then when you do an http://localhost/ you should see the other folders and a click on any of those folders would load the default page in that folder.

you would NOT want to do this for a public machine but if it is in your own house and on your own network you might as well.
