Alrighty now.

It isn't working yet for the main page notification of new posts since last visit but it is for the Topic list for each of the forums. As well it is also working in the Latest Discussions on the main page.

I have also added a link which will let you update your topics read (to be honest I'm still trying to figure out what the plugin author means with that). I had a Mark All Read link as well but it did just that marked everything as read. If that is still wanted I'll put it back.

I'm working on the notification of new posts since last visit for the main page but the code is a little hinky so I'm have to look for some help to try and figure out why it's messing up. As soon as I get it figured out I'll get it in place.

I can see the "span" HTML tag on the main page around the forum names with new posts. I just checked, it's not an IE artefact, it also occurs in Opera.

Same in Firefox.
They go away when read.
Except 'Tutorials, FAQs & Other Helpful Stuff' which after reading still shows the tag.

hmmmm ... that shouldn't have been displayed as that part of the code is suppose to be disabled.

I'll try to spend some time looking at the code again today.

strange ... like I said to Pierre I'll try and spend some time looking at the code today. IT would help if I knew PHP and bbPress code. I'm getting there with bbPress because it is just an off-shoot of WP but still early stages of learning.

I don't know what you've changed, but this morning I can no longer see the HTML tags on the home page, which is good. OTOH the forums with unread messages, which I can identify from the "latest posts" list on the right side, do not stand out.
