After seeing the ads on top of some of the photos, I wondered if you were thinking of getting rid of ads for people who donate to the cause every month?

Dean this is a tough one to be honest.
When I removed the ads from the previous incarnation of the forums I lost literally more than have of my monthly revenue but I was willing to take that bite since I have a paying gig but it also returned WinExtra to a point where it wasn't even paying for its hosting fees per month as only two people continued to support through donations.
Even when I did have the ads and removed them for people with subscriptions the response was - shall we say - tepid but it was offset by the ad revenue which was constantly improving.
That said I will seriously consider that option again if I can find an easy way to handle it in a way that doesn't increase my Admin time or complexity of running the forums.

The only time the ads have bothered me to this point is when they cover a pic. Other than that I don't even notice ads on a webpage. Kind of makes me wonder who does.

I agree with Dean...to a point. Ads that move, flash, bounce etc, GUARANTEE that I will either turn on the adblocker (if there is some content that I NEED) or simply leave..never to return. With my SID, anything jumping around in my peripheral makes it impossible to focus.

Do you get money per click? If so, I'll try and remember to click on them... if I remember they're there.the money comes from both pageviews and clicks. however one has to be very careful with repetatively clicking on exactly the same ads within a period of time (Google's assessment of what that period of time is). if you cross that 'line' Google will freeze my account
