You'll notice that the one thing that definitely didn't make the transition were your avatars that you were using in the SMF powered forums.

With the bbPress powered forums it uses a lot of the same functions that Wordpress does and one of those is the use of the Gravatar service to provide your avatar to all the blogs and forums that use the service.

To use the Gravatar service just sign up here - http://en.gravatar.com/ upload the avatar you want to use and associate it with the same email address that you used to sign up here.

I'm not sure how immediate the service is but once it clicks and you keep using the same email address in your profile your avatar will automatically display - even if you change it in your Gravatar account.

It must be linked through the email address as I signed up to gravatar with a totally different name.

Yup. Had to sign up with my Winextra addy for it to work.

Make sure it is accepted file type (jpg, png) and 'G' rated.

No sweat G.I., pretty soon payday.

Mine originally didn't show up and I had it 'PG' rated. I thought that was the problem, but it turned out to be my alias email addy. I had to change the address I was using in my winex profile.

Pfft. I've been wondering for days why my avatar (GAWD since that horrid movie came out I HATE that word) went away.

Wandered into this thread and recalled that I changed my email addy.
