Enable Built-in Administrator Account
First you'll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator" (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box)
Now type the following command: net user administrator /active:yes\
You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you'll now see the Administrator account as a choice.
You'll note that there's no password for this account, so if you want to leave it enabled you should change the password.
to disable account type
net user administrator /active:no\

Nice trick, but why on Earth (or in space, as the case may be
) would you want to enable that account for local login? All you have to do is, disable UAC for admin accounts (you can do that easily with TweakVista) for the time you need to run administrative tasks, then re-enable it (or use a non-admin account for your everyday work)."If those who say bad things about me knew what I think of them, they'd say even worse." Not really sure why.
I do not run vista, but my son does and I heard him say that he missed the administrator account.
So I went looking and found the how to and saw quite a few was looking how to do it so I thought I would post the tip here.Posted 3 years ago # -
Old habits are hard to break

I've been running Vista almost since it became available, and I've never once needed the built-in Administrator account. I have one admin and one standard user accounts on my machine, and I've disabled UAC for the admin account, that's quite sufficient even for the most exacting maintenance tasks.
I'm not putting your tip down, mind you, but it's really not necessary for those willing to learn the new environment's possibilities.Posted 3 years ago #
