Anyone else watch the NASA mission broadcast from JPL last night? Don't think there will be anything like this for some time and it was about as close to perfection as one could wish. I think that the lateral movement at touch down was only 4 cm/sec or so IIRC! All the communications worked even when Curiosity was out of sight of earth and had to switch to one of the Mars satellites as a relay.
NASA posted an excerpt of the video to YouTube and quickly a news agency sent a take down notice and it was taken down. Gee, a NASA owned and produced video was taken down by a news outlet that was able to rebroadcast parts of the video that they got at no charge and then claimed ownership. And YouTube caved.
We certainly do need more strict anti privacy laws.
