And the weather forcaste here for the same period has been "Today's weather will be much like yesterday's"

After a massive tropical storm dumped over 12" of rain, we have settled back into a comfortable 92°. Reading Clive Cussler on my Kindle. That is all, over.

Well, French mobile phone provider Orange has been down for the best part of the day, and they don't know when the system will be operational again. Besides that, we've been having the rainiest three months I can remember, with thunder and hail storms for the past two days, and the forcast here is also "more of the same" for the coming week. Bastille Day will be wet, as usual.
Thank you for tuning in Useless Radio Channel

Oh yeah, and the rain produced a bumper crop of these:

7th straight day of 98+ degree weather in the nation's capital. Fat politicians are ready to keel over at the thought of having to suffer another day of hot weather. Thunderstorms last week took out power to over a million people in the region. Politicians feel helpless in the face of mother nature's wrath.
Things are looking up around here.

My smart phone, bought in early November, is completely unresponsive. Discovered I've not memorized my boss's newish cell phone number, too.
Hope to take care of the problem Saturday.

Would "blood sucker" be too obvious?

Tiger mosquito, thought to have come from Asia in used tires, during the '80s. The female must suck enough blood to have babies. If interrupted will have to suck blood from a different donor thus transferring pathogens.

Weather here is same, dry, hot, miserable. Had a promise of rain yesterday, but it evaporated in the dry atmosphere.
Busy weeks for work. Cindy has 4 sales she is negotiating and 2 contracts accepted this week alone, so that is a real big blessing to us.
My rentals have picked up alot last two weeks, so maybe my summer (and virtual only real income for the year) will not be too bad (been down more than 30% till now).Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They both should be changed regularly and for the same reason.Posted 10 months ago # -
Orange is back up this morning, and I've never had such a good signal in my home. Over 20 million users were deprived of service for over 12 hours, the incident has made the headlines here.
And it's still rainy and stormy – as forecast. Weather forcasting has improved a lot these past 10 years: before that, they'd be wrong about half the time. Now, their accuracy has climbed to 50%.Posted 10 months ago # -
We have been without power for the past 7 days (power went out last Friday) because of the storm that took out the power for most of the Mid Atlantic region of the US, from Ohio to the ocean. At one point there were over 1 million customers without power just in our immediate area.
I've been running on an emergency back up generator and only dealing with my hosting and product support biz, not bothering with any of the forums.
They brought power back on here last night so now everything is back to normal.
Not a lot of fun as the temp ran from 98° to 105° every day and NO air conditioning.
Luckily our finished basement stays at a consistent 74° and we were able to just hibernate and read a few good books for a week

Moose, did you have gas for cooking?
Sounds as if you were better off than most but still no picnic.

Staggering to imagine the infrastructure damage necessary to cause that many to have no power for so long. Glad you had made preparations.
