Well with the exception of one really obvious thing that isn't behaving properly (The logged in user info section under Search) everything seems to be playing nicely. It's a good feeling to have been able to pull this conversion off since it is something that a lot of folks in the the bbPress (and SMF) community said either couldn't be done or would be really hard to do.

Well it was hard and not something I'd want to be doing again anytime soon. I'll be writing the whole process up for the blog just in case others want to do the same thing.

In the mean time for those of you coming from the old SMF style version of these forums you will notice that bbPress does some stuff a bit differently than SMF (or other web based forums for that matter). It actually does a lot of things differently but I worked hard at trying to make the design and behavior as similar as I could to make the transition easier.

To help you work with these new style forums I'll be posting a bunch of tips and hints in the Using bbPress here at WinExtra forum - it's a sub-forum under Forum Suggestions & Bug Reporting.

As well if you have any bbPress specific questions regarding the forums you can ask there as well.

I won't deny I didn't enjoy pulling off this conversion and I hope everyone will end up liking the new digs.

Also a big thanks to Mike (moosepucky) for sticking close on IM just in case something went wrong I really appreciated that.
