To hell with all those super dads and their building awesome treehouses or incredible bedrooms with fantastical beds; because I’m betting there isn’t a kid out there that wouldn’t fall down in rapt amazement at getting a kid-cave like this one.

I don’t know who the father is that created this ultimate kid (oh and adult too) refuge from the daily grind. Neither do I have any idea of who the lucky as hell kid is but I sure wish I did because I’d be in there like a dirty shirt looking to be adopted.

I mean does it really get any better than this?

‘The Last Of Us’ Is A Beautiful Game Now With 45 Minutes Of Video Game Play [Video]

Okay, let me say this right off the the bat – it sucks that this game; like all of Naughty Dogs games it seems, is strictly for the Playstation 3; and while I will never own a PS3 that doesn’t stop me from admiring what is a beautifully crafted game.

Like the ‘Uncharted’ games from the same company The Last of Us is full of atmospheric beauty and well crafted gameplay; at least from what I have seen in the trailers. To help build up even more excitement, if that is even possible, Naughty Dogs has released two additional gameplay trailers totally 45 minutes.

Ya, 45 minutes of nothing but teasing.until it finally gets released on June 14th.

The first trailer is is Joel and Ellie traveling through a relatively rural area as they try to find a friend (?) of Joel. There’s not a heck of a lot of action but gives a good look at the game mechanics.

The last, and shorter, clip is of their entry into Pittsburgh and is definitely a little more action packed.

Some New Trailer Excitement For ‘The Wolverine’

This summer’s action movie line-up; which basically started with Star Trek Into Darkness, is full of all kind of action goodness with July 26th being the day The Wolverine returns to the silver screen.

While we have already seen two trailers for the movie that doesn’t mean that the trailer train will be slowing down anytime soon as we can see with a fresh new (re-edited) trailer that shows Hugh Jackman getting his Wolverine rage on.

I have my fingers crossed that this one won’t end up sucking.

Leap Motion Demo With Windows 8 – “Touch-Free” Gesture Control [Video]

I’ve been hearing a lot about Leap Motion for some time now, especially since they signed a deal with both HP and ASUS, and even before seeing this demo video I was tempted to tray and get one once they become available to the general public.

As some-one running Windows 8 on a dual monitor setup the idea of being able to control the operating system and software without having to go to the expense of replacing my existing monitors with touch-enabled one is more than a little enticing.

As you can see in the demo you can do everything from navigating the Start screen to sliding through Netflix. You can zoom in or out with simple pinch gestures without the need of a mouse or trackpad.

What makes this even more amazing is that the Leap Motion controller is the size of a pack of gum and has a better sensitivity than the current generation of the Kinect; and all this with no complicated software to install or setup. It is just supposed to work right out of the box with any Windows 8 machine.

Now if I could just get my hands on one.

The New “Batman: Arkham Origins” Trailer Is Heavy On Cinematics But Light On Gameplay [Video]

Both Batman: Arkham Asylum and its sequel Batman: Arkham City were both bona fide hits for Warner Bros. Games, out of Montreal, so the question was – could they keep it up with a follow-up game?

Well the buzz so far for the prequel storyline, also known as Batman: Arkham Origins, is pretty good with a storyline that takes place just before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains.

To help it along they have released a pretty cinematic trailer for the game showing off a younger Batman as he faces a defining moment in his start as a crime fighter.

The game will be out on October 25th for the Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

New Interactive Show “The Music Room” Will Be Exclusive To Xbox [Video]

Well, well, well … it looks like Microsoft is definitely looking to raise its presence in the music industry if this news is any indication.

Tomorrow, May 21st, is going to be a very important day for Microsoft as it is set to reveal what the future of our living rooms will be looking like thanks to the next generation of the Xbox; and to help gear up the excitement the Xbox team has announced a new interactive TV show for the platform.

It’s called The Music Room and it will be exclusive to the Xbox and will come as a two-part show hosted by Laura Jackson and Carl Barât that will be used to showcase the music of people like: Everything Everything, Don Broco, and Deep Swim.

You will need to be an Xbox Gold subscriber to watch the show that will premier on May 29th at 8:30 pm. At this point we don’t know if there are any plans to continue with the project after the first two shows but apparently Xbox users will be able to vote on the outcome of the program as it airs.

Just one note - the original post at VentureBeat doesn’t mention if the show is limited to certain locales but in the video preview below Jackson does say “Europe-wide” but no mention of other countries; so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

J.J. Abram’s “Believe” Gets Its First Trailer [Video]

We won’t be getting to see the new J.J. Abram’s television series Believe until this fall sometime, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get inundated before then with trailers and the such of what we can expect from the series.

The show was written by Alfonso Cuaron and Mark Friedman, with Cuaron sitting in the director’s chair. Here’s a bit of a synopsis for the show (but if you really want to blow the first show the full script is also online):

about the unlikely relationship between a girl in possession of a great gift/powers — which will come into their own in seven years — and the man who is sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down.

Even after watching the trailer I’m not so sure that the Abram’s name will be any sign of success for this one.

Worf’s Klingon Bat’leth Brought To Life By Sword Making Master Tony Swatton [Video]

When it comes to making movie props, especially the kind with sharp edges, there is no better than Man at Arms owner Tony Swatton who is a master swordsmith and world class propmaster; but every once in a while he takes a special interest in certain weapons.

About a week ago I posted at Geek Dimensions about his making of Gimli’s Bearded Axe from Lord of the Rings and as cool as that was, the idea of making a true to life version of Worf’s Klingon Bat’leth appealed to Star Trek fan Tony Swatton.

As you can see from the making of the Bat’leth it definitely isn’t some toy to play around with, it seriously could hurt or kill you.
