As the television networks have been announcing their new shows for the upcoming television season there has only been one so far that has caught my attention that I am really looking forward to seeing hit the small screen.

The show is called Revolution and is springs from the creative minds of J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau where the premise of the show is what our world could be like fifteen years after all forms of electricity is rendered inactive, and looks like it will stay that way.

Some folks are comparing it to shows and movies like Flash Forward, The Hunger Games, or Kevin Kostner’s The Postman. Personally it reminds me more of shows like Jeremiah or the English show Survivors both of which never got the recognition I think that they deserved.

Here is the trailer that has been released for the show and is followed by a bunch of images from the trailer. Also io9 has a bunch more clips from the show for you top check out.

Wow. I really hope this show makes it. It reminds me of S.M. Stirling’s Emberverse series more than The Postman or The Hunger Games. Of course, like the movie adaptations of both those books, the props look way too “untouched” to have gone through the end of the world as we know it. If I survived an apocalypse, my shirts would definitely come though with at least a wrinkle or two.
