Back in November of last year I passed along the news that a Halo inspired webseries called Halo: Helljumpers was in the works and showed you the trailer that had been released for it. Well the first episode of the final product has been released.
That image above is of some of the most iconic video game “creatures” created and until now they have lived in an 8-bit world but thanks to the talented work of character artist Tom Carruthers we can actually put a ‘face’ to the creature from deep space.
I have to admit though my first reaction was one of what a fantastic mash-up with the head-crab monster from Half-Life, I mean really if they had better graphics when creating that thing it could very have looked like this.

I hadn’t realized that there was any large number of people waiting breathlessly for a Half-Life 2 movie but according to the team at Gamma Squad this is indeed the case. The only problem is that the chances of this happening is less that pretty slim.
Not that long ago there was a mod floating around the web that would let players of the game change the dragons in the game into some warped and strange figure of some wrestler by the name of Macho Man Randy Savage.
Mass Effect 3 is one of the most anticipated games for 2012 and even though rumor has it that it won’t be coming to Steam and will require you to connect to EA’s Origin platform there is one really cool reason to consider buying it, besides the fact it’s a killer game.
Next to the original Doom and Duke Nukem; and maybe Quake, the most seminal video game of the whole First Person Shooter genre had to be Half-Life and its sequel Half-Life 2 but unlike the others we are still waiting for the once rumored sequel Half-Life 2: Episode Three; or otherwise known as Half-Life 3.
Now the long time fans of the game have been pretty patient as they wait E3 after E3 for word, any word, from Valve about the next release of one of the most anticipated video games; but Valve has remained silent.
We all like to believe that our granny’s are the coolest and best granny in the world and for the most part they are but you got to admit that as we all get older and become video gaming grandparents it will give a whole new lease on spending quality family time.
