So, it’s the New Year; and you know what that means right. Yes, it’s movie and television award season and right now every movie and television geek is gearing up to rant and rave about who should win, or who should have stayed on the Red Carpet.
Personally I am still extremely upset that the fantastic Tatiana Maslany got totally snubbed at the Emmys for her incredible acting in the BBC America science fiction series Orphan Black. Luckily though the awards have redeemed themselves somewhat, or at least The People’s Choice awards have as Tatiana is up Favorite Actress in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy award.
Now if I was a betting man I would be putting my money where my mouth is and betting on her to win, regardless of the odds, Given the reaction in the sci-fi series fan world I am not alone but then when it comes to your favorite movie, television series, actor, or actress betting on a winner isn’t anything new.
Even moneyless it is still fun to take a look and see what kind of odds your favorite has. According to SportsBettingDime.com, the odds for the Golden Globes are in favour of Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) as Best Actress in a Motion Picture (4/9 odds) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) as Best Actor in a Motion Picture (11/8).
This might be a good year that I don’t have any money to bet because I don’t recognize, or have seen, any of the movies up for Best Motion Picture; nor do I recognize many of the actors or actress.
How about you, what’s your bet to take the top honors for Best Drama Movie, or Best Actor and Best Actress. Let me know in the comments and we can commiserate over how much we could have won, and my money is still on Tatiana for the win.
