BBC America's Clone Drama "Orphan Black" Coming In Marc

Orphan Black And Tatiana Maslany Get Snubbed By The Emmies

Well the primetime Emmy nominations have been announced and as expected shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Mad Men,and the big surprise Netflix’s House of Cards all got their Outstanding Drama Series nod.

As well the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series has many expected names up for the award. Names like Claire Danes, Robin  Wright, Michelle Dockery, and Elisabeth Moss.

However what was missing from both categories is what I think one of the most talented actresses out there in a television series that has become a big hit. I am of course talking about the BBC America science fiction series Orphan Black and the lead actress in the series Tatiana Maslany.

If you haven’t seen the first season of the show (and why not?) you are missing out on a great science fiction show but even more importantly you are missing out on seeing an incredibly talented actress play multiple variations (clones) of Sarah who is the central character.

Personally I believe she at least deserved a nomination, and I think anyone who has seen the show will agree but definitely deserved a serious shot at winning.

One other interesting thing I noticed when going over the complete list. Given the number of really good science fiction television shows in the past year not a single one, or the actors/actresses in them, got a nomination.

Here is a sample of Orphan Black (which is hitting DVD release on Amazon on July 22nd):
