Can you even imagine the rush that it would have been to have sat in on a conversation with three of the most brilliant minds of our times?
In 1988, Magnus Magnusson did just that when he brought together Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan, and Arthur C. Clarke to talk about God, the Universe, and Everything Else. The hour-long conversation saw these brilliant minds talk about the Big Bang, the connection between science and science fiction, as well as the rise of computer science, the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence, and of course the big one – human existence.
The show was recorded at a time when Stephen Hawking was only 46 years old but already having to rely on his speech synthesizer. Carl Sagan who would pass away eight years later appeared via satellite. Arthur C. Clarke of course passed away in 2008 so this recording is something to be treasured.
