While it is easy to sit back and appreciate digital artwork for the pure artistic merits we don’t think about all the work that actually goes into making those images.

Take the above image created by Alexander Koshelkov which he has titled Luftbanza Airlines. It took him four hours and seventeen minutes to create and has a total of 244 layers in it. To give you an idea of what is involved Alexander made a time lapse video of the process that went into creating the image.

You can also download the final product as a desktop wallpaper (1920×1080).

It is really cool to watch the creative process this way and only increases my envy of Photoshop artists like Alexander.
