As the go-live date for Windows Phone 7 gets closer more details about Microsoft’s next generation phone software is showing up on the Web.
Courtesy of the team at The Next Web we get two leaks with the first having to with the over all phone
- Windows Live Integration: first thing you’ll be asked to do
- OEMs are responsible for Direct3D drivers
- OEMs cannot bundle trialware on the phone
The second has to do with what the OEMs will be allowed to do with the phones and software
- can take up to 60MB space and pre-install maximum of 6 apps
- change the default search engine in Mobile Internet Explorer
- start up wallpaper
- ringtones
- tiles on Home screen
- lock screen wallpapers
It’s interesting to see Microsoft taking more control over the whole phone platform than they have in the past.
