When I clicked on the Techmeme folder in FeedDemon this is what was displayed
Now when I go to the CNN site and read the article [nw] nowhere does it mention the sanctions that the New York Times talks about
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin Friday said he would not seek to fine cable giant Comcast Corp. (CMCSA, CMCSK) for slowing some Internet traffic.
Instead, Martin said he wants the Comcast to stop its practice of prioritizing certain applications that tend to use a lot of bandwidth. "It is not a reasonable network management practice," he said at a press conference to discuss his recommendation.
"We would tell Comcast that they have to stop engaging in that practice. They have to disclose to the commission where they are engaging in that practice."

Martin said he is aware of Comcast’s concern. "I think that’s one of the reasons why I have not proposed that we put a fine," he said.
But no mention of a sanction.
Whereas the New York Times [nw] doesn’t explain what the sanctions being considered are
Kevin J. Martin, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, said on Friday that Comcast, the nation’s largest cable company, should be sanctioned because it interfered with the Internet connections of users who wanted to exchange files with each other.

Comcast’s practice of slowing the use of BitTorrent, a method of trading video, music and software files, provides such a case.
Mr. Martin’s recommendation, which will need to be approved by the full commission, would not impose a fine. But it would force Comcast to change its practices and disclose what it did in the past.
So here we have two of the biggest news organizations reporting on the same thing and yet neither one of them is reporting the same facts – or at least that’s the way it seems to this backwater thinks he’s a journalist blogger.
Bloggers may get a lot flack for being in an echo chamber but at least we seem to get the story right – even if much of it is good ol’ cut ‘n paste.
