I first spotted this product from One Signal from a post on the CenterNetworks where Allen Stern referred to it as OurSignal News Mashup. Well Allen was right about one thing it certainly is mess mashup but one that while pretty and borderline cool is a complete UI eyesore.

I get the methodology behind the idea which is that the more popular a story becomes according to whatever algorithm OurSignal is using the headline block move to the left and up along with the text getting larger. Neat idea except for one thing – the stories in the bottom right are next to unreadable. It is more of a case of blind clicking an hoping the story is worth it. Sorry but this idea sucks not only in the fact that anything new to the display is unreadable the overall color scheme used makes it look everything just blends in together making it more of an eyesore than a useful service.
