I first signed up for Lijit some time ago and then during a theme change or two I forgot to add the sidebar search widget they offer bloggers. The recently I got re-aquatinted with the service and have had a few email conversations with Micah Baldwin from Lijit. It was through those conversations that I have learned of some really cool stuff that Lijit has planned for rollout over the next little while.
One of the things which I am currently testing here at WinExtra is their Lightbox Search Results display when you enter search term in their widget; which you will find in the sidebar area. The graphic below shows what I am referring to:
As you can see the Lijit results page is overlaid on top of your own page; which can still be scrolled. When you select one of the results from what is available that page will be displayed in your browser and the Lijit display goes away.
In addition to this you also have access to a full range of stats on your Lijit page itself
All your stats pages can be either public or private and give you a full range of information to see how traffic is getting to your blog. Along with that most of what you can see on your stats pages like the visitor maps and popular posts are available via your widget page on Lijit where you can select from a wide variety of sidebar goodies.
I also learned while talking with Micah that Lijit has some really interesting things they are working on and being tested with a small set of bloggers. While I can’t say much about them at this point I know that when Lijit makes them available they will be a big benefit for bloggers at all levels – not just the big boys.
As soon as I can pass on more definite information about this I will but in the meantime if you haven’t given Lijit a try before now might be a good time to drop by their site and sign up.
