I sometimes consider myself a little jaded when it comes to public figures trying to use current events and technology to promote themselves in one fashion or another but today I have to admit I’m amazed when I saw who was broadcasting about the successful Phoenix landing on Mars. Granted the landing was great and congratulations on your success but when was the last time we ever had a US Representative broadcasting about it live using his cell phone.
I find it fantastic that Representative John Culberson became so involved that he used his cell phone to broadcast via the Qik service his interaction with all the engineers taking part in the Mars landing at JPL. We will probably be debating whether Qik has now reached the mainstream but right now I don’t care I just find it so encouraging that either the Senator or his team thought of reaching out this way. Fantastic.
