There has been no change at all, in my opinion. Well, aside from now talking to Louis and rejoining FriendFeed... okay, I guess that's a big change. But of all the TC writers, Duncan was always the most accessible and the friendliest, and I wonder how much of everyone's perceptions were based on the fact that it seemed like he must have sold his soul to the devil going to work at TC.

Saying Duncan is more famous for his public 'dust ups' more than anything else is like saying Charlie Sheen is only a TV star. Like Sheen, Duncan has been involved in some classic stuff that some people regrettably forget.

Long before his TechCrunch days he owned The Blog Herald which was the precursor to many of the blogs and bloggers we see today. He sold the Blog Herald back in January of 2006 before many of today's A-listers were even in the game.
    .
He has always been an entrepreneur / free spirit at heart and I was surprised when he landed at TechCrunch in the first place. He's a guy that needs to run his own show. He's good at it. And few people understand the blogging world more.

I agree chartreuse that he is definitely not as well known for his work at Blog Herald which I only found out about from listening to a podcast interview with him as he was launching The Inquisitr. You are right as well that is a shame he is only known for he "dust-ups" but I do think that his work now with his new venture will go a long way to helping making people see the good things about him and his contributions.
