I just got an email from Benjamin Golub the man behind RSSMeme which is an aggregator for Google Shared Feeds. In the email he lets me know that he is doing an overhaul to RSSmeme which will include the availability of an API for developers to use to access RSSmeme data. AS well he is beefing up the filtering systems used with RSSmeme so that you will be able to really refine the data displayed on the site.
From his email:
1. An API is already working. It isn’t finished but tacking on output=json or output=xml to any URL will give you the data in a machine readable format. For example: http://www.rssmeme.com/?output=json
2. The RSS framework now supports language filtering. To get an RSS feed in english you could visit this url: http://www.rssmeme.com/?language=en&output=atom
3. More and more improvements are coming down the pipe. Soon you will be able to combine filters. For example you’ll be able to find stories in english, tagged google, written on Mashable, with at least 10 shares. The sky will be the limit on how many filters you can apply.
I like it when single developers continue to improve their projects that may have just started out as something to experiment with and Benjamin is certainly doing that with RSSmeme.
