If the library adds some Kindles to their collection, it could just be an expensive experiment. They still have the vast majority of their holdings in dead tree format and will for quite some time. When the library starts giving up on books, tossing them out so the library is just a bunch of computer terminals lending out digital files, that would mean the Kindle is without a doubt a mainstream technology.
