Adobe AIR is slowly spreading throughout computer land with the latest addition being a version for Linux. As with most things to do with Linux installing stuff isn’t always as straight forward and double clicking on some Setup.exe file. To help those Linux folks out there who want to start playing around with the Adobe AIR platform Sizlopedia has a post up that will walk you through the process of getting everything AIR related up and running on Ubuntu.
From the site:
Adobe Technologies released the Linux version of Adobe AIR some weeks ago which brings web applications and widgets to your desktop. Installing new applications on a Linux distribution is always a mystery for newbies so here is a guide that teaches you how to install Adobe AIR on Ubuntu.
Hopefully the step by step explanation will help those anxious to start playing wirh some new toys.
Update: my sincerest apologies and I really don’t know how not posting the link got past me but with thanks to Hansi for coming through with it http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air_linux.html
