Well with a bit of poking and prodding from @rmccue on Twitter I decided to get my hands dirty and work on a custom theme for WinExtra rather than grabbing one from the web and trying to beat it into shape. I’m using the Wordpress Sandbox theme as the base which kinda helps deal with specific WP and PHP issues that might (would) have caused me grief. I’m not sure how long it will take me before it’s ready to go live but in the meantime here’s some good stuff from my FriendFeed pipeline.
17 brilliant 404 pages and why they are cool :: pingdom - just some fun stuff for a Friday.
Musical interlude: virtual mixtapes :: Mathew Ingram - after informing us about muxtape.com the other day Mathew has a new one today from another similar service called Mixwit.com. Why do I have visions of ’80s hair bands dancing through my head?
Facebook friends not real friends: judge :: smh.com.au - like we really needed a British judge to tell us this. Next we’ll have some psychologist telling us that there is no such thing as internet addiction.
FriendFeed Frenzy - Why it continues :: SEO and Tech Daily - Charlie Anzman gives a good overview as to why we are all still talking about FriendFeed.
Quarterlife: Not A Hit On Bravo, Either :: Silicon Alley Insider - not even switching to a cable station could save this loser - which only goes to show that a stupid idea is still a stupid idea regardless of where it is shown.
Is PaidContent really a “blog” at all? :: Mathew Ingram - ya I know another Mathew post but hey good questions need to be shared and this is a good one.
Mainstream Media Finally Cops To Dependence on Blogs* :: Silicon Valley Insider - all I can say is - DUH!
