Banging my head against the wall of Yahoo stupidity

Getting my cranky on I want to start of by saying this post is nothing against the team at MyBlogLog as they have tried their best to help correct any problems but sometimes even they get let down I think.

For those of you who may not remember or are new readers I have been a user of the MyBlogLog service for quite along time. It is a service I really liked - when I could log on to it that is and therein lies the problem. Like most people who have watched small startups get bought up by the big boys there was concern when Yahoo snapped up MyBlogLog; which was made worse when Yahoo decided that it wanted to unify user ID across the platform of services it had.

At first I felt safe in my auto log on when I brought MBL page up in my browser and figured this move by Yahoo could be stalled until a later date. Well that later date came when I did an OS update and tried to access my MBL user account. I found myself faced with the dreaded Yahoo and MyBlogLog ID unification option.

The short end is that it didn’t work and things went from bad to even more screwed up. Ian Kennedy from MBL tried very hard to help me out but to no avail and no matter how many times I tried the Password Reset option (which is at #3 and counting) I still find myself waiting for that email - none of which have arrived.

So I got the bright idea late last night to see if I could just get them to nuke my old account and let me start over fresh. It seemed like a good idea at the time as I filled in the request to delete my account from the MBL/Yahoo support form. I got the obligatory email following me hitting the submit button that my request would be looked at. Then this morning I found this in my inbox

WTF!

I’m sorry but this has gone beyond the point of irritating and making its way right up to totally arsine. I can see maybe asking for some verification of some sort but come on folks how stupid is this - nuke my damn profile for fuck sake. It has gotten to the point I almost don’t care if MBL becomes the hottest service on the web and every blogger under the sun is using it.

I realize I might only be some silly ass cranky old fart with some unimportant blog but I can tell you this if someone like Robert Scoble or Dave Winer was having the same problems Yahoo would be moving mountains to fix the problem. Well I hate to tell you Yahoo but you are only as good as the treatment you give to the little pissant users and right now you suck monkey balls.

Updated: It appears that Yahoo may actually listen to cranky old farts after all
