Yes folks it is true or at least the fact the one of the biggest proponents of advertising free blogging is joining those of us that have been polluting the blogging world with disgusting ads.
According to TechCrunch Robert Scoble; as a part of his deal with Fast Company, is going slumming with the rest of us as his site is being redesigned to include advertising. Even from when I first started blogging and Robert stood staunchly with the likes of Dave Winer and the other members of the blogging purity patrolĀ I have always believed the day would come when Robert would succumb to the dark side.
The interesting thing is going to be watching the crap that is going to be written about this because you know Robert is going to be taking a lot of bullshit flack over this from both sides of the fence. Those on the advertising side will be snickering about how even the mighty eventually come around and the purity patrol will be using words like sellout. Either way Robert is going to get nailed which as far as I am concerned isn’t fair.
Robert has given a lot to the tech blogosphere - can you imagine how many boring weekends we would have had without him - so if he wants to finally earn some good bucks for himself, his family and his Apple addiction then all the more power to him.

Looks like the Disqus threading is kinda flaky, my LOL was for Kevin. I really need to unsub the comments feed, it is upsetting me.

I wrote that piece as a total spur of the moment humor piece - with a dash of what I thought we could expect. I couldn't have cared less at the point I wrote it where the hell it end up. So take your pompous self-righteous attitude and well you know what you can do with it.

Robert has given to the blogging community like few others, started many conversations that provoke thought, and inspire more people to get out there and blog.

Rick
