InfoWorld must have been having a slow news day considering the coverage their story about sources letting them know that SP1 for Vista could get released any time in the next couple of weeks. Mind you they are basing this on a Taiwanese news report that is giving us Feb. 15 - the day after Valentines as the release date. Can you feel the Microsoft love ….

The fact is that the RC of the Service Pack has been out since December along with two refreshes of it with the last earlier this month; and even the reported stability of the SP hasn’t produced any encouraging signs that this will help with the uptake of Vista any time soon.

As a former Vista user; who also tried the SP1 RC release, I have absolutely no intention of going back to Vista even with a spanking new service pack to go with it. I’ve been bitten too bad and don’t feel like going down that road again.
