I guess this Rowling woman and some book about a kid wizard apprentice is pretty popular. Popular enough that Amazon was willing to fork over $4 Million to grab a single copy of seven available handmade editions of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. However that is not the really cool part of the story.
According to Brier Dudley’s post today Amazon is making available scans of the book for visitors to view which you apparently can get to via a big link in the middle of their main page. Additionally once the scan of the book is complete Amazon is going to put the book on public display at a location yet to be revealed.
Granted that kind of money is a lot to be spending on a specialty book but given the rarity of the book and the way it has been published I think that Amazon is doing a really cool thing. My hat’s off to them for this present.
