Normally the jock humor that comes out of CrunchGear is possibly funny .. it might make you crack a smile or again it might not. Usually in between posting the latest news of cool tech and lame attempts at being newsworthy the site is worth visiting and the RSS feed worth reading.
But when they start insulting the country I live in, make assumptions about Canada needing the mighty prowess of the US security and don’t even report the correct facts the point has come to flip them the bird and unsubscribe.
If the inane idiots at CrunchGear had even taken a moment to actually check their facts they would have found out that Canada has not yet banned any use of Google Street View in Canada. Instead the Canadian Privacy Commissioner has asked both Google and Canada based Immersive Media; the one’s hired by Google to provide the snapshots, to respond to privacy concerns about the service.
That is a long way from a service being banned you idiots and if this was another of your college dorm attempts at humor you screwed up.
For posterity sake here is the original quote from their post just incase they change their minds on what they said
So go ahead Canada, live in your perfect little welfare state, freeloading off the security that the U.S. provides. Just don’t expect to point out to your friends pictures of the local “hot spot” or where you got Bret Hart’s autograph.
