Google rumors come and Google rumors go and chief amongst these is the persistent speculation about the GPhone; of course with the GBrowser thrown in for extra spice. Everything from being ad supported to now being competition for the $100 PC that was set to supposedly change the world - when it wasn’t being used to surf for porn that is.

According to Mark Hopkins he had it whispered in his ear by a Google birdie that “… the Google (applications) Suite is going to play a huge role in the usability of the GPhone …”

Uhmm … excuse me but are they serious?

Since when is the idea of using a cell phone to write documents or work on a spreadsheet a great earth shattering technological improvement. It’s bad enough cell phone pushers want us to think that watching television and movies on these things is the greatest thing since slice bread but jeez let’s get real here this idea is not a productivity helper at all.

I sure hope someone at Google pulls their head away from the bong pipe long enough to get a grip.
