Well it looks like Jason from webomatica had some fun in his trip to D.C. except for one thing. He kept running into people who looked at him strange when he talked about Twitter not to mention the ones who passed him a kleenex when he said blog. It’s amazing the reality shift that can happen when you start rubbing shoulders with real people outside of the bubble. Welcome to my world Jason
Muhammad Saleem at Ponet Advertising had a good piece today on this apparent lack of originality (my wording - he was nicer) in the Web 2.0 world. His point is spot on as every day brings another of the same thing that was announced yesterday except maybe with an extra bell or whistle. After a while it gets just plain boring and repetitive and at that point people will start switching off.
Mary Jo Foley the venerable Microsoft watcher let us know today that Ray Ozzie; MS’s Chief Software Architect, was blathering on about innovation coming from the consumer end of the market rather than the corporate IT world. Really .. well how about this Ray - give us an OS that actually works right out the gate without making us mortgage the farm; because Vista is a mess. How it made it to RTM with the stupid problems with copying etc is a disgrace.
